Insight to Action Community

Background
The refugee and migration sector faces constant change — from shifting policies to new crises — and organisations often need to adapt quickly while still delivering vital support.
Through Insight to Action, we gather insight from across the sector via regular surveys and calls. The insights collected are turned into bulletins that capture trends, challenges, and opportunities.
For these bulletins to be useful, they need to reflect a broad and consistent range of voices. At present, engagement can be uneven — some surveys receive strong responses, others far fewer. To build a fuller and more accurate picture, we are inviting organisations and colleagues to join the Insight to Action Community: a group committed to sharing insight regularly and learning together.
Purpose of the Community
The Insight to Action Community brings together organisations, practitioners, Experts by Experience and volunteers committed to excellent service provision and advancing anti-racist, lived experience-led approaches across the refugee and migration sector.
Together we aim to:
- Build a committed network of 40–70 organisations who contribute to Insight Hub surveys and calls.
- Build a community of committed practitioners, including EBEs and volunteers, working across the sector, coming together in solidarity and sharing insights and best practice.
- Generate timely, high-quality insight to inform policy and practice.
- Strengthen the capacity and voice of refugee-led and grassroots organisations.
- Contribute to building a more equitable and power-aware sector.
What we ask of Community members
We want to be clear about the commitment. Organisations joining the Community agree to:
- Complete and share the Insight Hub survey.
- Promote survey participation within their networks, especially among smaller grassroots groups.
- Join Hub calls and Solidarity Spaces, and, where relevant, share insights or speak on specific topics.
- Work towards embedding lived experience leadership and anti-racist practice within their organisation.
- Help broaden the network, especially by connecting us to community- and refugee-led groups.
What you can expect in return
We want to be realistic: this is a collective effort, not a service offer. The main benefit is contributing to a shared picture of the sector that is stronger and more representative than any single organisation could produce.
That said, members will also:
- Receive exclusive data briefings, tools and templates based on survey findings.
- Have priority access to training and peer learning programmes shaped by the sector’s identified needs.
- Have access to Solidarity Spaces including Guest Speaker sessions
- Be part of a network that can influence policy and practice collectively.
- Gain visibility and connection as part of a wider movement for refugee rights and systemic change.
Who should join?
We’re looking for organisations and colleagues who:
- Work in the refugee and migration sector.
- Are committed to lived experience leadership and/or developing in that direction.
- Take an anti-racist approach, or are open to learning and improving.
- Are passionate about learning and collaboration.
- Add to the diversity of the Community in terms of size, geography, and community focus.
