The applicant was originally a Muslim but chose not to practice. So he was harmed by his family member, but their case was refused by the Home Office, as it was said that no sufficient evidence.

An appeal was determined, provided with the support of a report from Clifford Chance that demonstrated the honour killing and religious persecution, and unsafe to return. As a result, the case was allowed on appeal, and the family avoided destitution and endangerment.
